━━ Learning from Customer Feedback on Replacements ━━

Make it bigger first

When it comes to good luck hanko seals,
the size of the vessel that receives "ki" (energy) is important.

Many people initially choose a smaller size and later replace it with a larger one.

By choosing a large size from the beginning, you won't miss out on the flow of good fortune and avoid the hassle of replacing it.

In fact, the most common feedback we receive from customers is,
"I wish I had chosen a bigger one."

By choosing one size larger from the start, you avoid unnecessary expenses, and a dignified seal impression will support your future.

What is a lucky hanko?

FAQs

What is a lucky charm hanko?

+

A good luck seal is a personal seal made from an auspicious material and carved with a lucky typeface (Kisso-tai), where strokes are added to your name to ensure a favorable number of strokes, even if your original name has an inauspicious number of strokes. At Kazama Inbo, we carefully and diligently craft each seal to suit every individual customer.

What are the effects of a good luck hanko?

+

Good luck seals act as amulets to improve one's fortune. We have received various good tidings from customers who have used our good luck seals, such as winning large sums in lotteries, rapid company growth, and family reconciliations. A hanko (personal seal) is an "extension of oneself" and also a "talisman" for good fortune.

What are the key points to consider when choosing a good luck *inkan*?

+

First, we recommend creating a personal seal (jitsuin) to represent yourself. A registered seal (inkan) alone will not bring good fortune. Furthermore, an inkan that includes your full name, not just your surname or given name, will serve as proof of your identity and lead to improved luck. For younger individuals, we recommend creating a full-name inkan that can serve as both your personal seal and bank seal.

Are there any benefits to changing an existing hanko into a lucky charm hanko?

+

Changing to a seal of lower grade or smaller size than your current one may negatively affect your luck. Improving your luck can be expected by making it larger or using a higher-grade seal material. Especially during turning points in life or new beginnings, switching to a lucky seal can be a catalyst for positive change.

What kind of seal material do you recommend?

+

Ivory has long been known as a good luck charm and the highest quality seal material, making it ideal for improving one's fortune. Elephants are said to bring gods, and they often appear as subjects in sculptures and paintings at shrines and temples.

Are there any size requirements for a seal to be registered as a *jitsuin*?

+

The size of a seal that can be registered as a "jitsuin" (registered seal) varies depending on the municipality, but generally, a size of 15mm or larger is recommended. Our store offers 15mm, 16.5mm, and 18mm sizes that are ideal for use as a jitsuin. Please choose according to the regulations of your local municipality.

Is a 12mm size effective as a good luck stamp?

+

Since the 12mm size only engraves the family name, it cannot be expected to have the effect of a good fortune seal. We recommend using it as an option when purchasing a registered seal. For a good fortune seal, please choose a size of 13.5mm or larger that can accommodate your full name.

Is there a character limit for corporate seals and square seals?

+

Our standard allows for up to 8 characters for corporate seals and up to 6 characters for square seals. If you require more characters or a special design, please contact us for a personalized consultation.

When do I need a hanko?

+

In Japan, seals (hanko) are required in a variety of situations. Key examples include marriage, the birth of a child, purchasing a home, purchasing a car, starting a new job, and establishing a company. A registered seal (jitsuin) is particularly necessary when contracting for real estate purchase or sale, loan agreements, and car purchases, as a seal registration certificate (inkan shomeisho) is required for these.
